Followlogie is all-encompassing celebration of the follower's role in the world of swing dances, including Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz & Blues, while offering fresh and new persepectives for leaders on how important their partners are. Followlogie features some of the most inspiring international teachers to develop the art of being a strong follower. To participate in Followlogie is essentially finding a space to work your dance skills as a follower and as a leader, keeping in mind the follower's perspective. Solo, couple and exploration dance classes are offered to develop the tools you need to find your voice and define your dancer's identity. The competitions, the show, the discussions, the music and dance nights are as many occasions to fill up with inspiration !!! CELEBRATE - EMPOWER - UNDERSTAND - EXPRESS !! We intend: To offer great opportunities for dancers expressing and celebrating the follower role To develop leader skill level in creating exceptional moves and movement based on the connected partnership inherent to our dance To provide a medium for the expression, empowerment, and development and celebration of women's place in the swing community We intend to create spaces for developing one's individuality for all who wish to invest the follower's role. The goal is to define and express Jazz dancer identities, knowledge of the solo and couple formats for social dancing and/or performance in a fun and empowering environment emphasizing inclusiveness. Most importantly, we wish to do all of this while considering the realities that women specifically face in our community and the ways in which men can complement, understand, celebrate and support them.
